The chart this uses

This follows the widely used veterinary reference chart (consistent with guidance from International Cat Care and the American Association of Feline Practitioners): a cat's first year is roughly equivalent to 15 human years, the second year adds about 9 more (24 total by age 2), and each year after that adds roughly 4 human years. A cat is already comparable to a human teenager by its first birthday — a much faster early curve than the old flat ×7 rule ever captured.
