PHP End-of-Life Tracker

Every PHP 8.x release's end-of-life date, with a live countdown to whichever is coming up next.

PHP's two-stage support window

Each PHP version gets 2 years of active support (bug fixes and security patches) followed by an additional year of security-only fixes — the date below is the final one, when all patches stop entirely. A version already in its security-only year (no longer getting routine bug fixes, but still getting security patches) is worth planning a migration away from even before its hard EOL date arrives.

Why PHP 7.4 keeps coming up in searches years after its EOL

PHP 7.4 remains one of the most-searched EOL queries because so much WordPress hosting defaulted to it for years, and countless sites are still quietly running it long after patches stopped — worth checking if you administer any older PHP hosting you haven't personally audited recently.
