Holidays
All 10 official Danish public holidays for any year, calculated live.
Denmark abolished Store Bededag ("Great Prayer Day," which had fallen on the fourth Friday after Easter) as a public holiday starting in 2024, cutting the official count from 11 down to 10. It's now an ordinary working day unless a specific employment agreement says otherwise, so if you find an older source listing 11 Danish holidays, that's why the count no longer matches.
Like Norway and Sweden, Denmark does not create a substitute weekday when a public holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday — a typical working week already runs Monday to Friday, so a holiday landing on a non-working weekend day simply doesn't generate extra time off.
